Automatic Credential Assignment

The automatic credential assignment feature helps ensure that users print the correct card for a given person when multiple card designs are available. This functionality is facilitated through the use of Lists and credential assignments.

How It Works

People are associated with one or more Lists, and each List can be configured to automatically assign a specific credential. When a person is a member of a List with a credential assignment, that credential will be prominently displayed at the top of the credential picker with bold text.

For more information on creating and configuring Lists, refer to .

Example

Let's consider an example where there is a List named "Grade 9" associated with the "Student" card credential. If a person named Kevin Jones is included in the "Grade 9" list, the "Student" credential will be automatically promoted to the top of the credential picker when printing a card for Kevin.

Hiding Irrelevant Credentials

In some cases, you may want to hide credentials that should not be printed for a particular person. For instance, if a person is classified as a "Student," you may want to hide the "Faculty" credential from appearing in the picker.

Navigate to Administration > Settings and enable the "Hide credentials not associated with a Person" option. With this setting enabled, the only credentials that will appear in the picker are those associated with the Lists to which the person belongs and their corresponding credential assignments..
