Suggested fix

The card was printed at the wrong printer.

Users with multiple printers should take care to select the appropriate Station before print, as the Station determines where the ID card is printed.

The message “A mapped credential cannot be found for this person” is displayed when I view a person record.

Possible reasons for the message include:

  • The person is missing crucial information in their record that can determine the credential(s) they are assigned. Edit the Person using the pencil icon and input the missing data.

  • There are no available card templates in EliteID. To resolve this problem create a card template.

  • The List associated with the person does not include a credential assignment and the Hide Credentials not associated with a person setting is enabled

Nothing was printed after clicking print.

Check Printer Consumables

Confirm the ID card printer has ribbon and ID cards installed.

Check the Windows Print Spooler for print jobs that require attention

  1. Open Windows Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners

  2. Select the ID card printer

  3. Click “Open print queue” to review and clear print jobs

Restart the VDS PrintManager service

  1. Click Start, search for “Services” then open it

  2. Find “Vds PrintManager” in the list

  3. Confirm the Status is “Running”. A Stopped service will cause a print issue.

  4. Right-click “Vds PrintManager” then choose Start or Restart

  5. Exit Services

Check the printer status in RapIDadmin

  1. Open Administration > Printers

  2. Confirm the printer status is “Online”.

  3. If the status is “Offline”, try restarting the VDS PrintManager service, or restart the PC.

If the printer status indicates “Inactive”, edit the printer then assign it to a station.
