Client Requirements

  • Device Compatibility: Users can access EliteID from most internet-capable devices that run a modern web browser.

  • Display Resolution: Core application features, including person enrollment, photo capture, and ID printing, are optimized for 1920 x 1080 display resolution monitors. The interface is designed to scale down to accommodate smaller tablet and smartphone screens.

  • Template Designer: The EliteID card template designer is best used with a computer monitor and a mouse for an optimal user experience.

Print Requirements

The VDS PrintManager software acts as a bridge between EliteID and your ID printer(s). After installing VDS PrintManager and registering the ID printer, print jobs will be automatically sent to the designated ID printer when a user prints an ID card.

Supported ID Printer Brands

VDS PrintManager can print to any ID card printer on the market that supports the Windows print spooler, including:

  • Evolis

  • Fargo

  • Magicard

  • Zebra

  • Datacard

  • Entrust

  • IDP

  • Nisca

Card Personalization and Encoding

EliteID offers a range of card personalization and encoding options to meet your specific requirements. The following encoding types and formats are currently supported, with additional options planned for future releases.

Magnetic Stripe Encoding

EliteID supports magnetic stripe encoding, allowing you to encode data onto the magnetic stripe of your ID cards. This feature is commonly used for access control, financial transactions, and various other applications.

Smart Card Read/Write

EliteID enables you to read smart cards, providing enhanced security and versatility for your card-based systems. Note that specific ID printer and smart card encoder configurations are required.

Low Frequency (128kHz)

  • Prox: HID Corp 1000, H10301, Custom

High Frequency (13.56MHz)

  • MIFARE: Classic, DESFire EV1, EV2, EV3 UID

  • HID iClass: UID, PAC

Network Requirements

The VDS PrintManager software establishes an outbound HTTPS connection to EliteID servers. When properly configured, it can operate behind a network proxy.

To access EliteID, the client device or PC running VDS PrintManager must have the capability to communicate with the following servers:

  • www.vdsapps.com

  • cdn.vdsapps.com

  • api.vdsapps.com (for API users)

Printing across Networks:

EliteID supports the ability to print to local USB ID printers, as well as networked ID printers, whether they are located on the same network as the client device or in separate networks.

Please note that specific requirements may vary based on your organization's network configuration and security policies.
